Hilleberg Akto Tent Review
The Hilleberg Akto is my favorite solo hiking tent. It is simple, rugged and dependable in a storm. It won’t get you wet and keeps the interior dry with a very clever pitching system (the outside pitches and that raises the inside under the rain protection). I’ve used this tent in good and bad weather and it’s just phenomenal. Well worth the money too because it may be the last tent you buy.
This is the companion to the Hilleberg Soulo. The main difference is that the Akto is about 1.5lbs lighter and is a single hoop design. This means it can’t handle snowloads quite as well as the Soulo (although it still works in snow and is a true four season tent). It also has slightly less headroom, but a larger vestibule than the Soulo. However the Akto is significantly lighter and packs smaller. This is the first tent I grab if I’m not expecting very bad snow fall.
I love Hilleberg tents! The quality is just amazing.
